The Service is
the outcome of:
 | Research into
the foundations of mathematical and metrical thinking
|
 | A sequence of
software prototypes, leading to the current forecasting
'engine'
|
 |
Co-operation with consultants contributing expertise from the
financial world.

What it
provides:
 | As a web service,
it will offer a customisable toolbox for inputting data
from different prices to create projections over different time
intervals
|
 | It delivers
financial forecasts through graphical charts and
corresponding analysis in statistical form
|
 | It will
produce a systematic basis for
Trade What, Buy If and
Sell When
decisions.
|
Unique Features:
The
financial forecasts allow
 | Any Input -
the source data can cover any time interval, e.g.
hourly, daily, weekly, 2-weekly or 4-weekly: daily input
produces daily output, weekly input produces weekly output, etc.
|
 | Verification
of the forecasts through the production of a Reliability
Factor, i.e. providing a ‘numerical attribute’ which
indicates, for each financial instrument, a variance between
forecasts and actual historic data |
 | Trading Ranks
to inform Trade What, Buy If and Sell When
decisions.
|
Verifying the
Forecasts:
An
example: the stock values for 11 US companies were analysed
manually, producing 7260 forecasts, over 5 time periods. For values
relating to 8 hour-, 1 day-, 1 week-, 2 week- and 4 week- results,
the quality of forecasts against actual performance results was
measured.
This showed that the 'engine' produces:
 | a high degree of
absolute numerical accuracy - which on average
was 85% |
 | a high degree
of correctness of trend direction - which, on
average, was 80%. |
This quantitative
evaluation can be finely tuned
so that the reliability factor informs the decision of
what and when to trade.
